In 1999, the Beach Company started constructing Seaside Farms and began by building 66 houses in the Wild Olive subsection. Those houses sold out the first year of development! They are brick and vinyl sided houses on slab foundations with square footages that range from approximately 1,450 to 1,900. These houses have a common “streetscape” with 2-car garages and lovely, muted coastal colors. Seaside Farms has a strong HOA which is evident of the beautiful landscaping when you turn in from Rifle Range Road. Immediately to the left is a pond with a fountain and walking trails with native plants. Folks will often see herons, ducks, geese and people fishing or walking their dogs.
If you by-pass Wild Olive and drive over a short bridge, you’ll be in Magnolia Woods subsection. Most of these 260 houses are elevated (some are on crawlspaces), approximately 2,200 square feet to 3,000 square feet and a few even have 3-car garages. They maintain the same lovely, muted coastal colors with brick, vinyl and stucco exteriors. The houses in Magnolia Woods sell for approximately $500,000 to $800,000.
When you drive through Magnolia Woods, you’ll cross another short bridge to enter the most upscale subsection in Seaside Farms … Cathedral Oaks. There are 72 gracious, Lowcountry style homes in Cathedral Oaks. Many of these homes are custom built on the marsh and with intercoastal waterway views. Because of the water property, most homes are elevated. So when looking at houses in Cathedral Oaks ask your agent about flood zoning, because the insurance rates vary from zone-to-zone.
Marais condominiums are tucked back in the Seaside Farms subdivision amongst marsh views and bird life. They have 2 or 3 bedrooms with approximately 1,500 to 2,000 square feet units. The features in Marais are high end as most of the owners are retired and use their condos as a second home. Also, most of the units have drive-under garages.
Windward Point condominiums are 1 floor living mostly for retirement age people. They were built in 2006 with high-end amenities such as granite, fireplaces, stainless steel appliances, 2 central elevators, etc. The beauty of these condos is enhanced with lake views, magnolias and gorgeous oaks. They are nestled towards the rear of The Shoppes at Seaside Farms convenient to the Harris Teeter.
