Top Neighborhoods in Avondale (Old Windermere) -Continued
As I mentioned last week, here is more information on one of the neighborhoods on the East side (left side as you are going south on Highway 17) of Savannah Highway (Highway 17), Old Windermere. This neighborhood is the first subdivision (on Left) you get to once you pass the Folly Road Stoplight on Savannah Highway. It is a very quaint neighborhood and at this time I am only seeing 1 home For Sale and only 2 have sold in the past year.
I was reading this month’s Stats on Home Sales sent out by our CTAR Organization and the Median Home Prices for West Ashley are around $291,000 YTD. I want you to know that you won’t find that kind of pricing in Old Windermere. Here is what Homes are going for:
- SOLD - $220,000 - Condo (End Unit) - 900 SqFt ($244/sqft), 2BR, 1.5Bth
- SOLD - $675,000 - Single Family Detached (2-Story) – 2557 SqFt ($264/sqft), 4BR, 3Bth
- For Sale - $444,000 – Single Family Detached (1-Story) – 1680 SqFt ($262/sqft). 2BR, 2Bth
At this time, it looks like it will be quite difficult to find a home in this quaint little neighborhood. There appears to be minimal turnover of homes here, as you can see the 2 Solds in the past year. When you drive around this neighborhood you can see why. It is soooo peaceful and there is a lot of charm. It has great access to downtown Charleston and local retail (grocery stores, restaurants, etc).
