Eat Fresh – Buy Local

Living in the Lowcountry makes it easy to obtain fresh, local and healthy ingredients for your meals. It also can be a fun activity to search for the perfect ingredients at local Farmers Markets. The area has numerous Farmers Markets on different days and different times. Aside from obtaining fresh fruits and vegetables, many of the markets have food trucks and live music.

Here is a list of some of the local Farmers Markets:

  1. Charleston                Saturdays     8am – 2pm              Marion Square
  2. Mount Pleasant      Tuesdays       3:30pm – 7pm        Coleman Boulevard
  3. West Ashley             Wednesdays 3:00pm-7:00pm   Ackerman Park
  4. Sunday Brunch       Sundays        11am – 3pm                        Maybank Highway

Additionally, if you want to get fresh local shrimp, now in season, you can get them right off the docks on Shem Creek in Mount Pleasant:

  1. Mt. Pleasant Seafood
  2. Magwoods
  3. Geechie Seafood
