The Old village isn’t known for being very commercial but the few restaurants within the neighborhood limits are phenomenal. I’ve talked about The Old Village Post House and the Pitt Street Pharmacy in the past and how great their food is but I have yet to mention the cozy little bakery conveniently titled, Village Bakery. This bakery is one of the most underarted food establishments in the city! They serve delightful sandwiches and mouth watering desserts at great prices. The owner, Sal has 2 other restaurants in the area including the Mustard Seed and Long Point Grill. If you have been there and had a scrumptious desert in past...you now know where they are baked. You're welcome. This quaint shop, located on Pitt Street serves a light breakfast and has a variety of coffee options as well. Their sandwiches and varying sides are amazing as well, but their desserts really take the cake. In the morning they serve eggs, breakfast sandwiches, muffins, scones, cinnamon rolls and house made bagels. Try one of their 6 signature sandwiches, salads or ask for their soup of the day. With delicious meals ranging from $9-12, they are sure to please the pallet and your wallet. Keep in mind that they make delectable wedding cakes and do specialty catering as well. If you do not at the very least try their blue cheese/bacon cole slaw or their coconut cream cake...you are missing out.
