There is simply nothing more relaxing than taking an early morning walk at the beach.

And Sullivans Island is still a quiet and pristine spot where one can walk the beach and enjoy the view of dolphins playing close to the shore line, the view to vessels and cruise ships, fishing and sail boats coming in and out of the Charleston harbor. At Green roof boat housecertain hours locals and visitors can bring their dogs to the beach and let them run free to enjoy the wide beach and the easy waves and currents.

Sullivans Island is at the entrance to the Charleston Harbor. The island was named after O'Sullivan, a boat captain who was the first lighthouse keeper of this island's lighthouse. The island is located along the Atlantic Ocean.  The island is bordered to the west by the entrance to Charleston Harbor, to the north by the Intracoastal Waterway, and to the east by Breach Inlet and Swinton Creek. The Ben Sawyer Bridge connects Sullivan's Island to Mount Pleasant to the north. A bridge spanning Breach Inlet connects it to Isle of Palms to the east.

Here on this island one can find stately homes and beach cottages, small local restaurants and unique pubs, tiny boutiques and even an art gallery. Among locals, famous and less famous people, Sullivans island is also the home of a very well known local painter, Mickey Williams, a master of his craft of painting and poetry.
