Spring Has Sprung & Farmers Markets Have Begun
Do you like
sunshine, trying new food and supporting local farmers and businesses?
If you do, then you will love all of the local Farmers Markets in the Charleston area. The best and brightest farmers along with many aspiring small businesses sell and sample their local goods in neighboring towns such as Downtown Charleston, James Island, Johns Island, North Charleston, Summerville, Goose Creek, Moncks Corner, Hannahan as well as two Mount Pleasant locations. Today I will be focusing on the Farmers market located in South Mount Pleasant at the Moultrie Middle School, off of Coleman Boulevard near the Old Village.
This Tuesday was opening week which means we have through September to enjoy all the delicious delights and entertainment this treasured event has to offer. Park for free and check out this weekly event that goes from 3:30-7:30 pm. Enjoy the freshest of certified fruits, vegetables and flowers our local farmers have to offer as well as tasty meats, seafood, and prepared dishes. Neighbors and friends gather to eat, shop and listen to live music alongside some of the area's most talented bakers, cooks, and craftsmen. There are plenty of hot to order food options, coffee/cold beverages, homemade oils/preserves and handmade gifts for purchase, many of which offer free samples.
Make a day of it and bring the pooch and children to this family/pet-friendly event with plenty to do for people of all ages. I love and support my community...so if you agree, buy some produce like me at your local farmers market.
