Sports in the Lowcountry
Sports in the Lowcountry-
As if living in the Lowcountry and just enjoying the natural beauty of our area isn’t enough, we can enjoy and participate in many sporting events throughout the year.
Although the South Carolina Stingrays hockey season is coming to an end by the middle of April, you can plan a trip down to Joe Riley Park and enjoy the Charleston Riverdogs who will be starting their season at their home opener on April 6th. If you haven’t made a trip to Joe Riley Park, you are missing out! Great food, great activities for the kids, and great baseball. Not interested in baseball? Then head over to Daniel Island to watch the Charleston Battery soccer team at MUSC Health Stadium.
Looking to hit the water? The offshore fishing season should start picking up in mid to late April to troll for wahoo, dolphin (mahi not bottlenose!), and billfish. The inshore fishing should also start heating up with warmer weather on the rise. The trout bite has been excellent and the redfish should really start biting over the next few weeks. If you are looking for offshore or inshore charter recommendations, please send me an email and I will pass along my recommendations.
