When relocating to Charleston, South Carolina, from Illinois, I was lucky enough to find a position working with AgentOwned Realty. Being new to the area and not knowing much about the state, working for a real estate agency with as wide of a reach as AgentOwned has was a blessing. Yet once I found myself considering purchasing a home, I realized I only had a vague idea of where to begin.
Like most people, I decided to sit down in front of Google and do a search. The amount of information that flooded me about purchasing a home made me almost give up on the whole idea entirely. The quantity and quality of information out there is daunting to say the least. I am lucky enough to work for a company that knows South Carolina like the back of their hands and was able to give some much needed direction.
Before you run to some major database like Zillow or try your luck on Craigslist, check out my series of posts that I will be writing dedicated to those of you who are in the same boat I was in as a first time homebuyer. I'll take you along the process of my house hunting journey all the way to the end when the keys to my new home were finally in my hand.
