Shark tooth hunting in the LowcountryShark Teeth

Last week, I had some family come in town to visit.  We always do the usual - pool, beach, fishing, and checking out Downtown Charleston and other area sightseeing.  This time I wanted to take them on a new adventure.

We decided to book a 2 hour charter with Flood Tide Charters with Captain Brian Garris to go searching for some shark's teeth.

We looked for a good time to hit low tide and met with Capt. Brian one evening.  He took us to a great spot and we spent some time beach-combing through the shoreline for shark's teeth.  It was some great family time for both kids and the adults!

At the end of the evening, we probably found between 30-40 sharks teeth.  Mostly tiny ones, but some a little bigger.  Identification on some of the ones we found were from Augustidens (could be dated back to 22-30 million years) and some mako teeth.

Another great adventure in the Lowcountry!

As always, please keep me in mind if you, your friends, or family have any real estate needs in the Charleston area!
