Pitt Street Bridge: Unwind and Decompress
Having a crazy week? I have the perfect place for you... I have lived in Charleston nearly four years now and Pitt Street Bridge could possibly be my favorite place to go. And, I’m certain it’s my dog Sophie’s favorite place. It’s basically the only place we can let her off the leash and there is literally nowhere for her to escape. She gets to run free and go into beast mode sprinting here, there, and everywhere. We often get comments that she looks so happy and having fun.
On one side you have a grand view of the harbor where you can see downtown Charleston as well as the stately Ravenel Bridge. Many people come regularly to see the sun set on this side. On the other side you have a marsh view going all the way to Sullivan’s Island. The other evening just before sunset, I captured this amazing and unusual photo looking at the marsh side. What is unusual is that the sun sits on the complete opposite side. Along the way you may pass a yoga class, picnickers, people taking wedding and other professional photo shoots, lounging in hammocks, fishing, crabbing, kayaking, and people enjoying their favorite beverage on occasion. If you haven’t been there I highly recommend it. One of the many reasons I’m still in love with this place…
