What's Your Focus?

What Word Will You Focus On This Year?

I don’t like to focus on New Year “Resolutions”.  I do like to focus on something though and ideally keep it top of mind for the whole year.  This year, the word I’m going to focus on is PERSERVERENCE.  Why?  Because after moving to Charleston and taking a year to get settled, you realize that this is what it’s about at this point.  You persevere or you fail.  And I’m not failing!  And neither are you!  Moving is HARD!  It’s stressful, it’s expensive and it’s emotional, right?  The goal is to come out on top!  And you can’t do that if you don’t persevere.   So my ‘word’ for the year is Perseverance.  Join me in using this word!

I help people move for a living.  I have to persevere for them.  I feel like that’s one of my duties; to keep working to find the right house or to get their house sold.  I don’t stop until things are just right for my clients because they have a goal of getting their kids in school in the new state by a certain date.  Or maybe they need to get back in one home with both parents & kids living under the same roof, in the same state!  So a HUGE part of what I do for my clients is persevere through the good times and bad, of a Real Estate Transaction.

Personally I had (and still have) to do it for myself.  When we moved to Charleston just a year and 5 months ago, 5 days after we moved in, my husband fell off a 25 foot ladder and broke 2 ribs & collapsed a lung. He could have been paralyzed!!  Two months later he was almost healed.  But funny how things work… I was walking my dog down the street in my neighborhood (Hamlin Plantation) and a Copperhead came out of a bush and bit me!  I was taken to the ER, spent 2 days in ICU, and received a (very expensive) dose of anti-venom.  I couldn’t walk for 3 weeks, let alone get my Real Estate business up and running.  And I hardly knew a sole here.  On Thanksgiving, 2 months later, I finally exercised and started feeling normal again.  The point is, I persevered!

I have an awesome 11 year track record of persevering to get my clients in the homes they love and getting theirs SOLD.  It’s hard to buy and sell a house, but there’s a light at the end of the tunnel and I love helping people get there.  Give me a call, I’ll help you meet your home buying or selling goals.  I promise!  Happy New Year!
