When we first moved here in May, the solar eclipse was one of the first things we heard about (of course now you can't get away from it)– I hadn’t been aware of it in Florida. Here in Summerville – Dorchester District 2 School District – the opening day of school was delayed one day because of it! One of the major changes when moving to a new states is discovering which sports are popular and deciding which team(s) to root for whether its high school, college or pro. I know about the Carolina Panthers in the NFL but I am a Green Bay Packer fan and that won’t change. Although thinking back until becoming a Packer fan, I was a Detroit Lions fan (lived and grew up in Detroit area); St Louis Cardinal fan (they are were the St Louis Rams and now St Louis doesn't have a team but when I lived there, they were the Cardinals) and a Kansas City Chief fan (same reason – lived there). I can’t remember who I cheered for when I lived in Louisville – probably the Lions – but once I moved to Wisconsin I became a Packer fan for life! Although, I will root for my old teams if they aren’t playing the Packers. For my fellow Cheeseheads – here is a link to a site that I found: http://cheeseheadtv.com/
Here in South Carolina college football is huge! Clemson Tigers and the South Carolina Gamecocks are probably the most popular. I’m also a Notre Dame & Kentucky Wildcat fan so not sure if this will conflict with the SC teams. I’m looking forward to football and cooler weather. I’m curious as to what team(s) you follow or if you are interested in football at all?
Our house is coming along….exterior is just about done, cabinets are in and painting has begun. I’m really looking forward to October when we can move in.
