Moving To Summerville SC
Okay – full disclosure – never wrote a blog before so I would love feedback (good & bad). Since there are many couples/families in my shoes, I thought it would be good to blog about what it is like to make the decision to move – to find a place to move to – and what to expect – the whole process.
I have lived and worked in many States and the first thing you should be aware of is that every state has different customs/laws. Some very strange and you wonder “what are they thinking!”
Last Fall my husband and I decided – after living in Florida for 4 years – that we wanted to move closer to family. Since we weren’t ready to return to cold winters – we picked the Low Country in South Carolina - more specifically – Summerville – The Sweet Tea Capital of the World! At least that is what they say.
For those of you who are considering a move like ours – over the next weeks, I will tell you how the moving process is working for me and what it’s like to move to somewhere you have never been to for than more than a few days.
We are building a home at Cresswind At The Ponds - an active adult 55+ community (don’t you hate that description – there has got to be a better way to describe us!) We picked this area for several reasons – near Charleston, the beaches and because even though Cresswind is a separate neighborhood - it is part of a subdivision called “The Ponds” which is for all ages so we won’t feel that we are in a retirement community and ready to be put out to pasture!
There is a lot of new construction going on in addition The Ponds does have some resales. So if you are looking to build or don’t want the hassle and a place that is convenient – Cresswind and The Ponds might be just what you are looking for.
But I digress…….for now – that’s all…..I will leave you with the three most important things I have learned so far in moving and building: 1) Patience; 2) Patience; 3) Patience!
I have my real estate license (I've been a Realtor for over 15 years so loads of experience!) so if you would like additional information- please feel free to contact me.
