This neighborhood apparently has some deep history going for it. It was purchased back in 1868 by Robert L. Scanlon (some say for just over $6000) after Paul Remley died in 1863. Scanlon then created a company (Charleston Land Company) that allowed the newly freed slaves (100) in the area, to pay $10 per share to purchase tracts of land. These tracts were divided up into 2-acre farm lots and ½ acre town lots. Please review more in-depth details online as I don’t want to pretend to be the expert here. It can be located just behind the previous neighborhoods I have written in the past 3 weeks. It is farther back from the foot of the Ravenel Bridge (up river), in Mt. Pleasant.

According to a Mt Pleasant 2016 Demographic Report, there are 143 homes there.
