Developers have named a 160 acre Island adjacent to the lower Charleston Peninsula off of Romney Street, Lorelei Island. They have plans in the works to develop this into an active area with restaurants, shops, offices, outdoor amphitheater and housing; all connected to the waterfront in a vibrant community main street setting. The hope is to also incorporate crabbing docks, shrimp boats, paddle boarding and kayaking for water enthusiasts. The plan is to build a bridge that connects Lorelei Island to the lower Charleston Peninsula.
This incredible venture should break ground in 18-24 months and will take up to 10 years to complete. This is the largest proposed development in Charleston in the last decade.
As you drive over the Ravenel bridge gazing at the beautiful Cooper River, you’ll be able to watch this amazing community come to life!
