LONG GROVE CONDOS
In 1999, The Beach Company built 272 apartment units nestled behind The Shoppes at Seaside Farms named Long Grove. A few years later the tenants were notified that another company had bought the complex and they would be condominiums. Some of the renters weren't happy about that, but most bought their units as they were very happy with the area, clubhouse, swimming pool, laundry facilities, (2) boat lots and exercise room. The owners were thrilled to be living in the wonderful Seaside Farms community. Years later, some of the units were taking in water from around their fireplaces and/or windows. The condo owners and the association went back to The Beach Company for repairs and thus began litigation. In the meantime, repairs had to be made immediately, so the owners began paying the association monthly assessment fees to pay for the work. That is what makes it difficult for would-be buyers to get a loan for purchase . Real estate agents list these condos as "Cash Only" purchases.
Long Grove condos have 1, 2, or 3 bedrooms with open floorplans, porches and some even have detached garages. The owners hope a judgement will come soon in their favor. In the meantime, they enjoy living in the Long Grove community while others use their condo as a summer home or rent them as income property.
