Anyone raised in Charleston and the surrounding area know what time of the year it is. Strawberries are almost ripe. Time to get your boots, gloves and buckets ready. Also get the kids ready. What better childhood memory than picking and eating fresh strawberries. I have been picking before and watched the kids stuffing their mouths so full that the strawberry juice runs down their chin and half way down their shirts. Also time when the fresh lettuce, asparagus, early peas and onions are ready for picking. Nothing like fresh picked vegetables for flavor and variety for our taste buds. So find a farm that has a pick your own schedule, load up the kids and have a blast.
