I lived in this neighborhood for years, just a few blocks away, and loved it! There are so many things to do, places to eat, and adventures to have right in the area!
There are so many dining options close by, too many to list them all. Stroll right next door to find fabulous fine dining at Circa 1886 at the Wentworth Mansion. Further up Wentworth St. you will find Basic Kitchen, a more casual option featuring seasonal local produce and many healthy options. You can wander over to Queen Street to eat at a long-time favorite of neighbors and visitors alike, Queen Street Grocery.
If you are looking for exercise, recreation, or just relaxing, Colonial Lake and Moultrie Playground are just a few blocks away. The lake recently underwent a complete renovation and looks wonderful. There are plenty of benches, great for relaxation and people watching. It is also a popular place to walk your dog or go for a jog. There are always colorful plants blooming and the water is beautiful and calming. The General William Moultrie Playground is named after the Revolutionary War “Hero and Statesman”. There are tennis courts where you will always see matches in progress and some playing fields for the kids.
There are so many other amazing things to see and do in Charleston that you may want to take advantage of Holy Spokes, the Charleston bike share. There is a hub conveniently located next to Moultrie Playground. Enjoy Harleston Village!
