Mexican food may not be your favorite cuisine, but it's still a blast engaging in all the festivities that come with Cinco De Mayo.  Cinco De Mayo is of course Mexico's 4th of July, but to us it's merely an excuse to binge drink and eat tacos.  Whether you are celebrating Mexico's independence from the French, or just want to feel less bad about  drinking a mid day margarita… or 4, this holiday has something for everyone! The low country isn't exactly known for their stellar, authentic, Mexican cuisine, but we do have a few really quality restaurants to check out.  Let's take a look at some Mexican restaurants to visit in the Old Village Mount Pleasant area.  Senor Tequila is a very successful chain that has several locations in the low country.  There is a location off of Coleman Boulevard that has an array of Mexican dining options and solid selection of margaritas.  It is located in a shopping mall so there isn't really outside seating, but the food is decent and is priced competitively..  Juanita Greenbergs is a fun spot to grab a burrito and drink one of their many Mexican beer options.  The employees are super friendly and there's usually a great crowd.  They also have a nice outdoor dining/bar area right along Coleman Boulevard with plenty of tables and corn hole.  This place is the only late night bar that's open till 2AM so it's an excellent place to grab a drink after you grab a drink..  Santis is located on the Corner of Ben Sawyer and Center Street, right at the end of the Old Village.  This place is run entirely by Mexicans so the food tends to be a bit more authentic than some of the others on this list.  They are also the most affordable place on this list.  They have a very attentive staff that force feeds you copious amounts of delicious chips and salsa while you are enjoying your favorite Mexican beverage.  They have a large patio area and friendly servers to assist you.  Don't forget to get a taste of their pastor tacos if you manage to stop by. Last, but certainly not least is MexOne.  This Tex-Mex style restaurant has phenomenal food and even better margaritas.  They are located on the main strip in Sullivan's Island, just a short drive from the Old Village area and believe me, they are worth it.  If you haven't checked out this amazing restaurant than you are missing out.  If you get the privilege at dining at this establishment, make sure to check out the Lil Mama nachos or the bangin’ Shrimp tacos which are a couple of fan favorites.  Cinco De Mayo conveniently fell on a Friday this year so there is no excuse to not order at quesadilla or get you tequila game on.  This holiday is so popular in America that many non Mexican restaurants provide Mexican inspired entrees and drinks in celebration of this great day.  Regardless if you are participating, have an enjoyable weekend and make sure to travel safe. After all, Cinco De Mayo is a top 5 drinking day of the year, and for good reason.  For more information on Cinco De Mayo festivities, real estate inquiries or all things Old Village, contact Pat Gallant at 843-790-4PAT!
