Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce Networking
Yesterday (4/19/17) I went to my first Chamber Event at Lewis BBQ, which is located in downtown Charleston near the Ravenel Bridge. For those who do not know, the Chamber of Commerce is in almost every city, and they are “a local association to promote and protect the interests of the business community in a particular place” What they do is create new and innovative ways for people/businesses to connect and meet each other.
To be honest, I was surprised by how open and friendly everyone was! I went by myself and between running into a couple people I knew, and people I was meeting for the first time, I was conversing the whole time. At this specific event, they had Mark Sanford make an appearance and speak for a couple minutes. There was a ton of delicious food provided by Lewis BBQ, as well as Live 5 News doing a live report in the background. If you are in Charleston and are looking to meet some of the finest people Charleston has to offer, go to http://www.charlestonchamber.net/calendar/ and find the event that works for you!
