As everyone knows, Charleston has been expanding rapidly over the past couple years. Well it is official, we are now the largest city in South Carolina! Previously this title was held by the state's capital, Columbia, but with the rush of people to Charleston over the past couple years it was evident that we would soon be the largest. Charleston beat out Columbia by only 76 residents, but this number is surely on the rise.
Surprisingly, Greenville (South Carolina's sixth largest city) was listed as the fourth fastest growing city in the nation! At a six percent growth rate in the past year, Greenville is a popular destination for South Carolinians and the nation alike. With that being said, I think Charleston will stay the largest in the state for quite a while.
