Charleston Fleet Women's Soccer Off To A Winning Start

The Charleston Fleet opened its inaugural match of the season with a 1-0 victory over the Carolina Rapids on June 3rd at MUSC Health Stadium. Then they held off the Lake Norman Eclipse 1-0 in a defensive battle the following day to begin their season with two shutouts and a record of 2-0.

 The Fleet will take on the Greensboro Lady Dynamo, Oak City FC, in a two match road trip to North Carolina on June 10 and 11. Back in South Carolina, they meet Beaufort County FC on Hilton Head Island June 17. They return home for a rematch with Oak City FC on Saturday, June 24 at 4pm and the Greensboro Lady Dynamo at 1 pm, both in the Soccer Stadium at Patriots Point.

 "We are very excited to be affiliated with the Charleston Battery,” said Fleet General Manager and Head Coach Sarah Michner. “The Battery have been impacting the Charleston community through the game of soccer for 25 years now.  We are thrilled they want to help grow the Women's game with us and we look forward to working together."

July 14 vs Beaufort County FC

The Women’s Premier Soccer League was formed in 1998 and has since grown to over 100 teams. Their mission is to help develop the highest level of women’s U.S. soccer in an effort to serve as a stepping stone for aspiring collegiate, professional & international-level players. They hope to bring affordable & quality family entertainment to the community while displaying positive role models for our youth. 

The WPSL season runs from May 1st to August 1st with a league championship tournament held the last weekend of July.
