Huge weekend ahead!!!

There’s a little something for everyone this weekend. Events and festivals are all weekend.

If you want to brave the crowds downtown, the Bridge Run is Saturday morning beginning in Mt. Pleasant and ending in Marion Square. Even if you don’t participate, you can hang out in Marion Square, cheer on the runners, get some food and listen to the variety of bands provided by the event. Traffic will be difficult downtown with some streets closed until around 2:00pm.

If you want to get away from the 40,000 runners and walkers, you can take a short trip to Summerville and go to the 45th Flowertown Festival. It features 200 juried artists, a multitude of blooming bushes and trees, food and music. Also there is a Farmer’s Market on Saturday and Sunday. There is free parking and admission.

For something really different, the Cajun Festival will be on Sunday. The event features numerous food trucks and bands. The event is held at the James Island County Park from 12:00pm until 6:00pm. Zydeco music, jambalaya, alligator, and etouffe; what a great way to spend a sunny Sunday in Charleston!

These are just a small sampling of events in the Charleston area over the weekend. All just a short drive from Johns Island where there is affordable real estate. If you want to skip the events and search for a new home, give me a call.
