Beachy Keen- Living on Sullivan's Island
My love for food and real estate run deep in my blood, and, being from Charleston, I have a lot respect for locally owned and operated restaurants. This week, I am highlighting a local restaurant in the scenic coastal area of Sullivan’s Island.
Sullivan’s Island is only 9 miles from downtown Charleston and is known for its beach and its cuisine. Fort Moultrie and the lighthouse are notable stops for tourists and the architecture of the homes on the island are definitely something to take in.
This week, I hit up Poe’s Tavern for a burger and fries. Poe’s is named for the famous writer, Edgar Allan Poe who was stationed at Fort Moultrie from 1827 to 1828. Every burger on the menu is named after a Poe story. I went with the Amontillado, which includes guacamole, jalapeno jack cheese, pico de gallo, and chipotle sour cream with shoe string style fries. The food there never disappoints. Whether you are there to hang out and watch the game or grab a bite to eat, you will be happy you went.
Not only is Sullivan’s Island known for its unique shops and restaurants, the beach, and sunshine, it is a hot spot for real estate. There are still homes being built on the island that are architecturally astounding. The demand for a slice of paradise is high. The active median list price for a home on Sullivan’s Island is $1.85 million with the median sold price for the month of November was just about $1 million. Currently, the home prices range from $269,000 for a 1 bedroom, 1 bath condo to $5.5 million for a gorgeous and spacious luxury home with breathtaking water views on three sides of the property.
I’d love to introduce you to everything Charleston has to offer. Contact me TODAY for more information on finding your home here in the area and selling your current one!
