On Monday August 21 of this year, the majority of North America will be able to view a solar eclipse of the sun. If you happen to live along the path of totality -a thin ribbon that is approximately 70 miles wide and runs across the United States starting from the West and heading East – you will see a total solar eclipse. During a total solar eclipse, the moon comes between the Earth and the sun and blocks out the light from the sun entirely. The path of totality for the eclipse on August 21 will begin at Lincoln Beach, Oregon and end near Charleston, SC. The solar eclipse in Charleston is expected at 2:46 pm EDT and should last a little over a minute and a half. You must use special glasses to view the eclipse to avoid damaging your eyes.
Make your plans now to attend the many Solar Eclipse parties planned in Charleston (see below for a few party links). You might want to stick around and enjoy many of the famous restaurants in the area as well, but be sure to call ahead and see if reservations are necessary. We look forward to having you stay with us. If you decide you want to stay permanently, give me a call and I can show you some beautiful properties!
