Ray grew up in Atlanta but childhood summers were spent with family in Charleston and on Sullivan’s Island as his mother was a native Charlestonian. Ray is a graduate of Georgia State University where he served as GSU Student Body President his senior year. After graduation, Ray began a sales career in the print industry which culminated in the roles of Senior Vice President and member of the Board of Directors of Communicorp, Inc., a fully owned subsidiary of AFLAC. While at Communicorp, Ray’s consummate people skills and attention to detail landed The Ritz Carlton Hotel Company as a client. For over thirteen years, he served as account manager overseeing the creative development and distribution of print media for the hotelier as it grew from 12 properties to 43 properties around the globe.
Since leaving the “corporate” environment, Ray has pursued his passion for design with a partnership in an interior design and home renovation firm with projects across the Southeast as well as involvement in a garden design firm that imports Italian terra cotta to the Charleston ports. Ray has a keen eye for improving most any property he encounters whether it is a simple entry garden makeover or an extensive full house renovation. His work has been rewarded with a cover of Southern Living magazine as well as a nomination for 2013 Southeastern Designer of the Year sponsored by Veranda magazine and the Atlanta Decorative Arts Center.
Ray relocated to the Low Country to put his extensive skill set in sales, marketing and design to work in the local real estate market. He has been a licensed agent in South Carolina since 2009. Ray enjoys matching clients with one of the many move in ready immaculate homes in the Low Country or helping buyers see the full potential of a home that may not appear to be the perfect property at first look.
