The Old Village Post House Inn...Southern Hospitality at its Finest
Nestled in the heart of Mount Pleasant's oldest and most charming neighborhood lies the Post House Inn, a very classy establishment that is in my opinion one of the finest restaurants our flourishing city has to offer. Last week I wrote about dining on Shem Creek but this week I will shift gears and focus on this beautiful inn and fine dining establishment. The Post House Inn is run by the Hall family who is also responsible for credited restaurant such as SNOB, High Cotton, Ritas and Hall's Chop House. This family has been charming our city with their excellent food and warming hospitality for years and The Post House Inn is certainly no exception.
They have an incredible menu sure to please the pallets of people of all ages and backgrounds with a variety of entrees ranging from premium cut steaks and chops to other delicacies like lobster and local oysters. They always seem to have something new and creative to offer their pleased customers who always come back for more. Make sure to check them out for their delectable brunch which is a scene that has not been explored by nearly enough locals. Other than a fantastic place to dine, the Post House also serves as a luxurious 6 room hotel that has more of a bed and breakfast feel. Their rooms are gorgeous and the decor is equally as impressive. If you want to impress a significant other with a memorable meal or have a wealthy relative coming into town, make sure to recommend the Post House Inn for their dining and lodging needs.
Their is no other restaurant in the area quite like the Post House. Its located 10 minutes from downtown, a block from the Charleston harbor and right on one of Mount Pleasants most treasured streets...Pitt Street. This Inn is amongst some of the most historically valued homes in the Old Village and it is certainly worth taking a post dinner stroll through this desirable area to check out some of the real estate and scenery.
