The Cardiac Cats go Turbo Charged

My last blog post dealt with the Clemson loss to Pittsburgh. As I said then, many fans knew the upset was coming. It was only a matter of time until the mistakes we were making was going to cost us a game.

I am happy to say that the “Cats” responded with outstanding performances against Wake Forest and the South Carolina Gamecocks. They not only won both, but did it in very convincing fashion. We stopped the turnovers (fumbles and interceptions) and returned to the well-balanced offense that had become the pride of coaches, players, and fans. The defense that has been so dependable also is back in form.  The win over SC (56-7) was the most decisive since 1900! So, I think all Clemson fans are back in a comfort zone. We are expecting the Tigers to win! Not hoping.

But……. The upcoming ACC Championship game will be played against a very good Virginia Tech team.  The program has a lot of history and Coach Beamer was and is a legend. The new coach, Justin Fuente, is very accomplished and we will be facing a new look in their offense. Their defense is also very good. So, this game will feature well-matched teams and both want the championship badly. Tech will definitely be ready to play.

At stake is not only our conference championship but our maintaining our place in the final four in the run for the national title. If we lose this Saturday, we lose a lot more than a game. So, stay tuned and be sure to watch what should be a great football game on Saturday night!
