My love for food and real estate run deep in my blood, and, being from Charleston, I have a lot respect for locally owned and operated restaurants. This week, I am highlighting a local pizza restaurant in Mount Pleasant on Ben Sawyer Blvd, just minutes from Sullivan’s Island.
Who doesn’t like pizza? If you don’t, then this place has something for you too. Steel City Pizza is locally owned and operated with two locations, one on Dorchester Road in North Charleston and the other on Ben Sawyer Blvd near Rifle Range Road in Mount Pleasant. It’s a great spot for a delicious slice, while sandwiches and wraps are tasty as well. For the pizza lovers out there, I suggest going with chicken and bacon. The ingredients are fresh, and there’s just something about that pizza sauce. It is the perfect combination of sweet, salty, and savory. If you are looking for a wrap, the buffalo chicken wrap is one I certainly recommend.
When choosing a neighborhood that is in close proximity to the restaurant, I had difficulty narrowing them down. There are so many small neighborhoods like Harborgate, North Pointe, Scott’s Creek, Whitesides Park, Old Mount Pleasant, and so on, that I couldn’t choose just one. Needless to say, if you are looking to move to Mount Pleasant, you will not run out of neighborhoods to pick from. Rifle Range Road is a great place to start your house hunt with communities ranging from about
the low $300’s, on up to $2M or so with some waterfront properties available.
