Selling? Unclutter!

If you are thinking about selling your house now is a good time to unclutter.  A clean, non-cluttered home shows much better.  Even if you’re not moving, fall is a good time to clean out the attic, garage or storage shed.  Take a scan around the home and determine items you have not touched in six months.  Items you keep around thinking you might use them or wear them sometime in the future.  Sure you will?  Maybe?  Probably not!

There are several ways to dispose of these unused “treasures.”  Donate to a charity, garage sale or in the trash.  A garage sale can be a great way to unload space thieves and maybe make a little spending money.  A community or subdivision garage sale is even better.  A subdivision garage sale can be a lot of fun and a way to socialize with your neighbors. 

Communities that have covenants and restrictions may have rules regarding yard sales.  If so, check with the Board about having a community sale.  It really is a social event. St. Johns Crossing on Johns Island is having a community sale Saturday November 12th from 8am – 2pm.  Come on out and see how it works.  Remember, on man’s trash is another man’s treasure.
