In a recent article in the Post and Courier, it was noted that South Carolina’s tech sector is outpacing the rest of the country. This came from a recent survey conducted by an industry group known as the Computing Technology Industry Association.
In the Cyberstates report last week, it suggests more growth on the horizon. Last year, there were more than 200 new tech firms opened in South Carolina. That was a 3.9% improvement, more than twice the national average, with only Oregon seeing a bigger jump.
The average tech worker made $76,589 last year. That’s buying power for our local real estate industry and more evidence of the increasing overall benefit to our economy. The tech industry is gaining influence locally and is a shining example of achievement when local government works in concert with business leaders in a highly productive way.
And, as I have stated before, everybody wins! Our local real estate market has never been more vibrant and some of this is due to the influence of these high paying jobs in the tech sector.
