NoMo? Is that southern for no more??? No, it's the slang for the North Morrison Drive area in downtown Charleston. This was a lesser known area in the past that housed some light industry, a luxury car dealership, a designer rug company, a hardware store and Miss Kitty's southern style food. Most of that is past history and "Half Mile North" is the new trendy area for several newer restaurants that include Edmund’s Oast, SIB, Blue Acorn, Home Team BBQ, Lewis Barbecue and Butcher and Bee. These tend to attract more of the locals and are not priced like the fine dining further south in downtown. Just around the corner is Revelry Brewing. As you drive through the area, you will see many buildings that are in process of being refurbished. And unlike other areas of downtown Charleston, much of the deign is urban, modern architecture and includes a rain garden, courtyards, bike racks, and gathering spots. All of this "new development" with the hottest new spots also make this a great area to explore real estate. The prices are still lower than many other areas of downtown and make this a great time to invest in this area. Feel free to call me for any further information on this exciting area.
