Mt Pleasant - Why the Premium
Since returning to Mt. Pleasant this year after seventeen years away, each day has justified our decision. What a fabulous way of life! Yes, it is a bit more expensive than surrounding areas, but there are justifiable reasons. These include proximity to the beaches, shopping, medical and access into downtown Charleston.
The beautiful and wide beaches on Isle of Palms and Sullivan's Island are quickly accessed by the IOP Connector, a fixed span bridge linking the islands to the mainland. There is also a second causeway directly on to Sullivan's Island.Visitors are afforded very ample parking for easy walks to the beach.
There are abundant shopping opportunities from large chain stores to specialty retailers to high end luxury stores and shops. Every major grocery chain in the southeast has one or more stores in Mt Pleasant.
Two major hospitals (East Cooper Regional and Roper St Francis), medical complexes and every physician specialty are available here. Medical care is truly well represented in a town this small.
Downtown Charleston is a fast and easy drive via the beautiful Ravenel Bridge and is known for its history, shopping and world renowned fine restaurants.
So, our area has it all and people are willing to pay a bit of a premium to live and work in such a beautiful place with easy access to all services and conveniences.
