The snow moon was full Friday evening, February 10th, plus there was a penumbral (partial) eclipse. We live in Seaside Farms which is 3 miles from the beach just over the Isle of Palms bridge. So, the plan was to go to the beach at 7pm, bring beach chairs, food and a flask of Maker’s Mark to watch this phenom. Only problem it was cold and windy! By the time 7pm rolled around, we decided it was too cold to go to the beach, so we walked around Seaside Farms with our beach chairs and when we found a good view of the moon we sat down and watched the sky. We were not just impressed with the view of the snow moon, but also the interest our neighbors showed. We were joined by a couple who bought a big bottle of wine and plastic cups. By 7:30 we were having a snow moon party!
