Today, I visited the Nexton Community in Summerville, SC, to attend a final builder’s meeting (prior to closing) for an out of town client. I first visited this community in the Fall of 2015 (when Nexton was just getting off the ground) with only a handful of people living out there (things were quiet there). With clients relocating to the Low Country, we visited many new home communities that Fall, as they were only interested in a new construction home. After viewing many homes and communities, they choose to make Nexton home.
Well, since that first visit in the Fall of 2015, Nexton has certainly grown (a brand new Elementary School has already opened, restaurants, and a day care)! As we walked down the street from the sales office to their new home, I could not help but feel a little nostalgia about this place. Yes, it is a new home community, with lots of construction everywhere, but its already taking on an old world Low Country style charm! The homes had wide front porches, rocking chairs, beautiful potted flowers and many were patriotically decorated with their American flags. Children were riding their bikes as adults walked along the streets.
I’m anxious to visit again and watch this community come to life!
