In need of some Elf on the Shelf ideas
Can we talk about the Elf on the Shelf for a minute because I need help? Like most homes with smallish (my daughter is turning 8 on Friday) we have Jingles, our Elf on the Shelf. He arrives every year the day after Thanksgiving and leaves on Christmas Eve, right after the sweet babe heads for bed. So, in the beginning, I LOVED the cute idea of Jingles and the magic of him but if I’m being completely honest, I love being able to remind my sweet child that when she is having a moment that the elf is watching and we want to make sure he is able to provide a good report to Santa. At first this was a fun thing to move the elf and watch the babe look to see what mischief Jingles had gotten himself into the next day. I’ve now been doing this for a few days this year (this is our 5th year with Jingles) and I’m already OVER it. I’m forgetting to move him or I struggle to come up with creative yet easy ideas for this elf. Just this week, Jungles was placed with a small blanket on the couch and the babe was told the he had a cold…that bought me a couple of days without having to think about it.
I've spoken to a few other parents and I'e found that I am not the only one who is running into this struggle. There are multiple posts on Facebook and Pinterest and some of that has helped but there is still that pesky issue with remembering to move it that I also struggle with.
So, I need help! Give me some ideas of what I can do with this thing and still keep it exciting for my little babe and any ideas on how to help me remember?
