The South Carolina coast was hit pretty hard this past Saturday. Hurricane Matthew caused destruction throughout the Lowcountry. Trees came down, some in the streets, some on homes and cars, some out to sea. Some houses on the coast, particularly Edisto Beach, came down. Some homes were flooded and still are along the rivers.
It will be quite a process to recover from all the damage. Some shelters are still open, some streets and major highways are still closed, and many are still in need. If you live here, help is needed locally. You can volunteer at a shelter, help prepare meals, or help with the recovery effort through many organizations. The night after Hurricane Matthew I volunteered here locally at a shelter through the American Red Cross, one of many organizations helping in the recovery and disaster relief effort. If you are not local, donations of any kind and any amount will help greatly.
I hope you and your loved ones made it through this natural disaster well.Markie Sheets, RealtorMarkiesProperties@gmail.com
