Holiday Shopping Schedules
When did it become alright to skip holidays? As we all know…consumer demands have completely changed the map of how we shop, when we shop and where we shop. Whether it is standing in line in the early morning hours before Black Friday, leaving the Thanksgiving table to go directly to the stores, or shopping online at any hour of the day - things have changed!
My question is, when is enough, enough? Why should it be considered normal for a store to have Christmas decorations out in September? Why, when I decided to look for Halloween decorations on October 1st, was I “too late” and the inventory had already been set for a holiday 3 months away? Don’t get me wrong. I am definitely someone that likes to plan in advance. However, at the rate that things are being marketed, I feel that we never really have time to acknowledge the current season.
When a department store makes a “bold statement” by not decorating for future holidays until the current one has ended…I feel like there must be an imbalance. I am all for change. However, this one disappoints me. So, my advice is to enjoy each day! And, as much as I love to look to the future…never forget that each day is a present!
Luckily for me, I get to help people buy and sell homes year-round! It is always a good season for me to help you with your buying, selling or property management needs. So, give me a call!
Enjoy your day!
