Here is the list in order of importance:
- A green well maintained, manicured and weed free lawn
- Edged driveway, sidewalks and walking paths
- Trimmed and groomed hedges, shrubs and bushes
- Well maintained trees
- A mixture of seasonal flower beds containing both annual and perennial plants in a variety of colors
- A nice patio or outdoor seating area
- A wooden deck or porch
- Outdoor fire pit or fire place
- A fountain or water feature
- A swimming pool
It is important to note that the top 5 landscaping features listed above can be easily accomplished and cost less than $2,000.00 for an average size lot. In the same survey and study, it was revealed that the percentage of value recovered from simple landscaping projects was 417%.
