Purchasing your new home: Must Have & Wish List
I'll preface this blog by saying the 1st step in home buying process is to figure out what your budget is, aka pre-qualifying. There's no sense in starting house hunting if you're uncertain what you can afford or know what you are comfortable paying down and a monthly mortgage. No one wants the stress like the "Love it or List it" show where they show an amazing home that's $100,000 over the buyer's budget.
Making a home can be a very emotional decision. Keeping your emotions in check may be tougher once you are in a property that either exceeds or underwhelms; having a checklist and identifying must haves vs "wish list" items.
Things to consider:
Square foot, Bedroom Count, Bathroom Count, Garage, Porch, Type of lot, Age of home, School district, HOA, amenities, updates to kitchen and/or bath, specific area or neighborhood.
Having an agent that can give you sound, constructive feedback and be a sounding board is crucial in keeping the process on track and ultimately finding the perfect home. So the chemistry between buyer(s) and agent is an important step in the equation as well.
