November 14, 2016 the Super Moon was the closest it has been to Earth since 1948. It won't be that close again until November 2034.
A Super Moon is a rare coincidence when a new moon and full moon occur at the same time. It also causes a slight risk of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions. The tides are extremely high causing some streets to flood.
Why am I writing about the moon... you may wonder...Because the sight of the Super Moon from may back yard was absolutely breathtaking. Being able to see the stars every night reassures me that buying land on Chisolm Road on Johns Island was the best purchase I have ever made in my life.
