This is going to sound strange, but I think I learned more about Carolina life on Shem Creek than I did anywhere else. When I was little Shem Creek was literally the only hot spot in Mount Pleasant and has always been the hub of what used to be a tiny little fisherman’s town. It’s a lot busier than it used to be but it’s still the creek.
