A first impression is everything to a buyer. When listing your home, it is important to make your home feel warm and inviting. There are a few inexpensive little tricks that I strongly suggest to anyone who is looking to sell that will help buyers to already feel at home.
- Greenery is Golden. Ferns and caladiums will go a long way with a buyer. If you have a porch, hang a couple of baskets with these plants in them. If you have a stoop, purchase a planter to set one of these in. It creates a sense of coziness to the front of the home.
- Flowers are our Friends. People love flowers! Plant a few around the doorstep or even in a large pot to go in the front of the home. Be sure to check the necessary sunlight needed before purchasing, and put out fresh straw or dark brown mulch along with the flowers.
- Sweeping is Satisfactory. Please sweep your porch or front stoop regularly! Dirt, dust, and grime can ruin a first impression, so it is best to keep the area looking nice and neat.
- Welcome Mats are Wonderful. You may have a mat that you’ve had by your front door for two years. It is time to rip off that Band-Aid and get a new one! Go with a simple mat that could be used all year long, or one that coincides with what season it is. I’ve seen so many times where homeowners leave out a Christmas mat by the front door all year long, which could be an indicator to the buyer that the house is not well-maintained or updated.
These simple, easy tricks could help you sell your home more quickly and get more buyers in the door. As always, there are many more tips that can help you get the most money for your home. I’d love to work with you to get your home sold! Call Today!
